Dessert - Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cakes

Event: Clara's (Grandma Tutu) 80th Birthday Luau
Date: 2010
Cakes Made by: Valerie Featherstun

I was asked to make 50 mini pineapple upside down cakes.  The first batch was of course testing them out (the tops stuck to the pan... but they sure were yummy!) and realizing how much I had to spray the pans so they came out PERFECT!

Panty Poem:
Each girl was given a verse or 2 to read, and each one handed her a different kind of panty (which is listed with the verse it goes with)

The bridesmaids have a poem to share
For the guests and our little bride
We all thought we’d buy her new underwear
And now, she can’t run and hide.

So for our special panty queen
We'll make her feel just fine
By working as a friendly team
To form a panty line.

Lauren these undies are to last you
All throughout your life
And John will be pleased to say
He has a sexy wife!

So listen up to hear about
Your lifelong panty plan
These underwear, we have no doubt
Will last your whole life span

The first are for your wedding day  (Bridal white panties for first night)
Of course they are pure white
We know John will shout, "Hooray!"
When he sees you on that night

The next are for your honeymoon  (Sexy lace panties for the honeymoon)
They're sexy and all lace
We hope you'll leave your hotel room
'Cause Maui's a gorgeous place!

On Valentine's you'll wear this (Red for Valentine's day)
Before you hit the bed
Cuz Cupid's arrow in the air
Shoots tushies that are red

After a year has passed you'll face (Animal print  for the 1st anniversary)
Anniversary number one
With these you'll surely have a blast
'Cuz leopard's so much fun!

Then when the time is right for you (A pink AND a blue pair for baby)
And don't be saying, "Maybe"
You'll wear your little pink or blue
In honor of your second baby

And when your years of wedding bliss (A sexy full cut pair for 25 years)
Become the big 2-5
Don't worry - you'll just slip this on
To keep the sparks alive

When finally you're old and gray  (A giant pair of bloomers or granny panties)With these you can't go wrong
'Cuz sorry Lauren but at that age
You just can't wear a thong

Left/Right Game:
The words "italicized" is what you fill in to fit your bride/groom.

Lauren knew RIGHT away that she had found Mr. RIGHT and the RIGHT date was set. Now seemed to be the RIGHT time to start, so she LEFT RIGHT after lunch and went RIGHT to her mother's house. She knew she needed to get started RIGHT away to make sure nothing was LEFT undone.

With 62 days until the wedding day, there was little time LEFT to spare and so much LEFT to do. She asked her mother to write down an address list and she LEFT to find the RIGHT invitations. On her way, she LEFT a message at the florist and then RIGHT to the bridal shop she ran.

RIGHT in the window was the perfect dress. Oh no, I LEFT my checkbook RIGHT in the car. Hold that dress, I'll be RIGHT back. With that done, she called Mr. RIGHT and LEFT him a message to call her RIGHT back. She LEFT to meet the florist who had LEFT her a message that they had the RIGHT flowers for her.

Mr. RIGHT called her RIGHT back and said he LEFT a message for the preacher to call him RIGHT back and that he had just LEFT work and would be RIGHT over.

She LEFT the florist and ran RIGHT over to meet Mr RIGHT. RIGHT away they discussed what was LEFT to do. Who would be the RIGHT best man? She LEFT that up to Mr RIGHT. I'll get the RIGHT maid of Honor.

RIGHT away they started shopping for the RIGHT rings. With that done, the next stop was to order the RIGHT cake. Mr. RIGHT could clearly see his future, Mrs. RIGHT was on the RIGHT track.

After a long day, all that was LEFT to do was get RIGHT home to see if any messages were LEFT while they were out. "Lets call it a day". "Whatever is LEFT to do, can be LEFT until tomorrow.  With a kiss, he LEFT and she went RIGHT to bed.

Chelsea and Graham Salts - Reception

Date: December 2010
Event: Chelsea and Graham Salts - Wedding Reception
Decorating: Jaclyn Douma
Facility: Chaparral Homemade Ice Cream
Budget: $0

My parents own an ice cream parlor in Wickenburg, Arizona and one of their employees had asked if they could use the parlor for their wedding reception. She had zero budget for decorating, so I offered to bring up some of the items I had to decorate. I did purchase some ribbon on sale, which totaled about $5, but the rest I had. HJer mom did supply one bouquet of flowers that I broke up into smaller bundles to add to each table.

I made this welcome board at home.

I had an old picture frame that we painted black and used it as the guest book. Chelsea's mom brought over some color print out photos of the two, so we put that in the middle of the frame and her guests signed the white insert.

We placed the tables in a horse-shoe shape with the dance floor in the middle. I added flowers to each guest table and a candle

at another table I set up an area for her guests to write wishes/advice to the couple...

I didn't get any photos that evening, which I was a bit bummed about, but we had candles in short hurricane's on the front stage, along with hanging white puff decorations hanging from the ceiling. I think it came out great for the budget we had :)

Bridal Shower Left/Right Game

BRIDAL SHOWER LEFT - RIGHT GAME
By Jackie Whiteker
Original author of left-right game unknown

Pass out votives to every other guest or every other two, depending on number of guests.

Tell guests that as you read the story, they are to pass the votive left when you say left, and pass it right when you say right. When the story ends, those with votives are the winners!

[Bride] left her house and was on her way to the church for her wedding. But about half way there, as she turned left, she remembered that she left her wedding dress at home right by the door! She knew right away that she had to turn around and go right back to get her dress. So she turned right, then left and left again, turning right into her driveway. Sure enough, there it was, right where she had left it, right next to the door.
Finally, she was on the right track. When she arrived at the church, she realized that she only had 1 hour left before the wedding and she still had her hair and make-up left to do. So she went right to work and finished with time left to spare.
Well the wedding was beautiful - the ceremony was just right and nothing was left out. At the reception, [Groom] surprised [Bride] with a beautiful gift from [company]. She was so happy that she teared right up!
Off on their honeymoon they left! Of course, it wouldn't be right to say where they went.
So now there's nothing left to say except enjoy the evening as I get right to my demonstration. Just for fun though, pass once more to the left. Now see, that was fun! Right?
